近日，CGTN在海口采訪了中共海南省委書記沈曉明。他分享了海南的發展形勢以及首屆中國國際消費品博覽會的籌備情況。

Recently, CGTN interviewed Mr. Shen Xiaoming, the Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee in Haikou. He shared information on Hainan’s development situation and Hainan Expo’s preparation.

“沈先生，很高興您能接受CGTN的采訪。我們知道，歷經幾十年的改革開放，海南已經迎來了自己的機遇。現在全世界有許多對中國感興趣的朋友都想知道海南對自己的定位到底是什么。”

"Mr. Shen, welcome to CGTN. We understand over decades of reform and opening up, Hainan has had its opportunities. Many friends around the world who are interested in China wonder exactly how is Hainan positioning itself?"

“正像您剛才說到的，海南的定位問題是一個困擾了我們多年的問題，但現在我們終于理清了思路。2018年4月13日，習近平總書記出席了海南經濟特區成立30周年大會，并發表了重要講話，首次明確了海南的定位，即海南是中國的深化改革開放試驗區、國家生態文明試驗區、國際旅游消費中心、國家重大戰略服務保障區。‘三區一中心’的定位現在指引著海南的發展。海南的所有工作，包括海南自由貿易港的建設，都是圍繞‘三區一中心’展開的。”

"As you just mentioned, the positioning of Hainan Province has troubled us for many years. But now we’re clear. On April 13th, 2018, General Secretary Xi Jinping attended the meeting of the 30th anniversary of the Hainan Special Economic Zone. He made an important speech, during which he gave a clear statement on Hainan’s positioning for the first time, that is, the pilot zone for deepening reform and opening up, the pilot zone for national ecological renewal, the center for international tourism and consumption, and a pilot zone serving our major national development strategies. The positioning of three pilot zones and one center is now guiding Hainan's development. All work in Hainan, including the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, is carried out in accordance with this positioning."

“沈先生，我注意到，在《海南自由貿易港建設總體方案》和2021年的《國務院政府工作報告》中都提到了即將在海南舉辦的大型展會——首屆中國國際消費品博覽會，我相信海南在籌備這次重大活動過程中，肯定面臨諸多挑戰和困難。您是否可以談談，消博會召開在即，你們是如何解決這些問題的？”

"Mr. Shen, I notice that in the Overall Free Trade Port Plan and also the 2021 China Government Work Report both mentioned the mega event to be held in here Hainan, the first International Consumer Goods Expo, huge event, I’m sure there are a lot of challenges and difficulties. How are you solving them as we speak, only one month to go?"

“第一屆中國國際消費品博覽會將在5月7日在海口拉開帷幕。它是海南成為國際旅游消費中心的一件大事，已寫入今年的《國務院政府工作報告》。迄今為止，有來自世界69個國家和地區的知名公司以及1665個品牌，決定參加此次盛會。它將成為亞太地區*大的消費品博覽會。目前一切準備工作正在有條不紊地進行，唯一的變數就是疫情。不過我們已經制定了周密的計劃。雖然我們不能保證下個月肯定不會出現新的病例，但已經為此做了充分的準備。我們有能力將疫情對消博會的影響降到*低。”

"The China International Consumer Products Expo will kick off on May 7th. It’s a major event for Hainan to become an international tourism and consumption center, and it has been included in this year’s central government work report. At present, there are well-known companies from 69 countries and regions in the world, bringing 1,665 brands to the event. It’s expected to be the largest consumer products expo in the Asia-Pacific region. All preparations are going well. The only variable is the epidemic. We have already prepared a complete plan. Though we can’t guarantee there won’t be new cases in the coming month, we’ve already made full preparations. We can minimize the epidemic impact on the Expo."

“我們已經制定了全面的計劃。屆時參展人員主要是國際大型公司中國分公司的高級管理人員。因此，參會人員并不是剛剛入境。但是參展貨物都來自國外。許多公司將在此次消博會上推出自己的*新產品。它們都是進口的。為此，我們制定一整套針對清關、檢疫、運輸等流程的管控計劃。我認為，只要我們能保證這些貨物不攜帶病毒，我們就能控制疫情。”

"We have made comprehensive plans. Our participants are mainly senior executives from major companies’ China branches. Therefore, we have no people from abroad. But our goods come from abroad. Many companies are going to launch new-products at the Expo. Those are definitely imported from abroad. We have full plans for imports: customs clearance, quarantine, transportation, etc. I think that if we can control the goods, we can control the virus."
